To All Interested Teachers: Would you like to have students involved in a competitive project while using their creativity? Take part in 'A Writing Contest' and they will not only write, but they will use their creativeness while doing so. Hopefully this will spark some interest with teachers and their students not only in Japan but also Europe, Asia, North America, and Australia. A WRITING CONTEST The project is student-based and will allow students to think, self evaluate and use their creative side while competing with students around the world. THE IDEA: This project allows our students the opportunity to create short stories, and poems that will be read by their peers and teachers locally and globally. Students will write a short story or poem, post it on PIE, and an evaluation of the stories and poetry will take place between the teachers involved. THE PURPOSE: The purpose of this project is to have student’s use their writing skills while tapping into their creative minds. THE METHOD: Selected students from schools will write original short stories and poetry. Selected stories and poetry will then be posted on the PIE web site. At this point, students and teachers involved will read and comment on the postings. My goal is for your students to read and comment on the short stories and poetry that are posted. All teachers involved will then evaluate the postings and choose the most creative. There will be three (3) short stories chosen and three (3) poems. INSTRUCTIONS: Please post all responses / essays, or poems on the PIE Website “Written Art” section. All poems must be posted in the poetry section of the project posting. Short stories must be posted on the short story section of the project posting. Please remember that a PIE member on behalf of their student must submit all postings. Please respond when you are ready to begin this project. Thank You. |
